Luxurious family hotel by the sea

Hotel Riviera was built as one of Sweden’s first beach hotels in the early 1930ies. The hotel was a luxury hotel by the fine grained sand beach, which was called Sweden’s Riviera. It was a very popular hotel and ballroom with its beautiful courtyard and terrace.

The restaurant was created by architect August Svensson in a mixture of neo-classicism and functionalism. In the new Hotel Riviera special attention was given to preserving the dining hall's ceiling with lanterns that stretch across the dance floor and meet with an atrium with a large skylight. 

An oasis for the entire family Hotel Riviera Strand is located in a fantastic part of Båstad, right by the fine-grained sand beach, which was previously called Sweden's Riviera. The hotel is located central enough to be convenient and close by and at the same time quiet and secluded at Malens beach forest - Malensskoven - which is filled with fabulous trails and glorious exercise routes with pines, old birch trees, other hardwoods and hazel. The bird life in the forest is rich and exciting.

For those who want to experience history's presence, you will find a tomb from the Bronze Age in the forest. Along the Stone river floating just behind the hotel area there are stones that were raised in the context of peace in Brømsebro in 1645 and served as a landmark between Sweden and Denmark until 1658th

In Båstad center, located 2 km away, there are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs as well as a tennis museum. You can follow the beach all the way to the center or take a lovely bike ride along the ocean.

Båstad is located in the northwestern Skåne, in Sweden's most beautiful peninsula, Bjäre, where three-quarters of society is surrounded by sea. Today Bastad is known as the entertainment metropolis and for its international tennis tournament, which is played every summer. The city has about 5,000 permanent residents and  each year the peninsula is visited by 1.2 million tourists.

Bjärehalvön has a varied and beautiful landscape with dramatic rock formations, rolling fields and direct access to the sea. The peninsula offers unique opportunities for active outdoor life, glorious beach conditions and fine natural and cultural experiences. It is a perfect location for an activity filled holiday with golf courses of high class, hiking and biking as well as water sports like kite surfing, sailing, optimist dinghies to the small, sea kayaking and surfing. Also, tennis can be found on the peninsula.
