Jokes, sarcasm, and irony. Danish humor can be tricky for many foreigners. At STORM, you are not only given insight into humor and satire as core elements of the Danish national character, but also an entertaining perspective on Denmark’s history, from the Constitution Act of 1849 to the present day.

On the museum’s first floor, you can explore the humorous world of Danish cartoonist and painter, Robert Storm Petersen (Storm P.), a defining figure in shaping 20th-century Danish humor. His numerous witty depictions of everyday life have become integral to Danish cultural heritage and identity.
